  46.    Introduction

  49.      The program Bank Investor automates the use of your checking
  50. accounts. It maintains a record of all transactions, reconciles
  51. accounts versus the bank's statement, permits printing of the checks
  52. on any standard form that you select (inc. the standard checks supplied
  53. by your bank). The "International Edition" permits operation with
  54. any currency and will print checks in English, German, Spanish, French,
  55. or Italian.
  56.      It provides the function "unpaid bills/deposits" to store yearly,
  57. monthly, or one-time-only transactions and remind about them when
  58. they become due. The overdraft protection reminds user when the account
  59. balance falls below a stated limit.
  60.      The programs allows setting up to 10 different account and each
  61. may contain upt to 6 budget categories for your income and up to 28
  62. expense categories, thus presenting an exact review of your income
  63. and expenditures over a selected time period. Budget reports show amount
  64. spent/received in any user-defined budget area over any desired time
  65. period.
  66.      The printing of customized checks is facilitated by the setup
  67. routine in which the user may define the exact position of each printed
  68. line. Thus there is no need to purchase any special forms, use ones
  69. supplied by your bank.

  76.            To install the program, start the Windows program and select
  77. "File Manager". Use File Manager to execute "INSTALL.EXE" program and
  78. respond to all the queeries as they appear on the screen.

  80.  This will initiate the installation process during which you will be
  81. given an opportunity to select the drive and directory where you wish
  82. to store the program.

  84.           After you have installed the program in your computer, you
  85. are ready to start the program. The first time that you use the program,
  86. you will go directly to the "configuration menu". A context sensitive
  87. help is provided to assist you in this process.

  94. The evaluation ("shareware") version of the Bank Investor is provided
  95. for evaluation only, on an "as is" basis. The included modules allow
  96. evaluation of Bank Investor files, and provide all the capabilities
  97. necessary for the user to verify correct functioning of those for
  98. his/her purposes.  Users are advised to do so.

  100. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE PROGRAMMER
  101. DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES RELATING TO THIS SOFTWARE, WHETHER EXPRESSED 
  102. OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF
  103. MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.  NEITHER THE
  104. PROGRAMMER NOR ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS BEEN INVOLVED IN THE CREATION,
  105. PRODUCTION, OR DELIVERY OF THIS SOFTWARE SHALL BE LIABLE FOR ANY
  106. INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE USE
  107. OR INABILITY TO USE SUCH SOFTWARE.  IN NO EVENT SHALL THE PROGRAMMER'S
  108. LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES EVER EXCEED THE PRICE PAID FOR THE LICENSE TO

  110. THE SOFTWARE BEARS ALL RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE

  113. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Massachusetts
  114. and shall inure to the benefit of the programmer and any successors,
  115. administrators, heirs and assigns.  Any action or proceeding brought by
  116. either party against the other arising out of or related to this agreement
  117. shall be brought only in a STATE or FEDERAL COURT of competent jurisdiction
  118. located in Middlesex County, Massachusetts.  The parties hereby consent to
  119. in personam jurisdiction of said courts.

  124. LICENSE TERMS APPLICABLE TO ALL USE OR DISTRIBUTION

  126. You may not use, copy, rent, lease, sell, modify, decompile,
  127. disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or transfer the licensed
  128. program except as provided in this agreement.

  130. U.S. Government Restricted Rights:  Use, duplication, or disclosure
  131. by the U.S. Government of the computer software and documentation in
  132. this package shall be subject to restrictions as set forth in
  133. subdivision (b)(3)(ii) of the Rights in Technical Data and Computer
  134. Software clause at 252.227-7013 (DFARS 52.227-7013).

  137. LIMITED DISTRIBUTION LICENSE
  138.  
  139. Permission is granted to individuals charging no fees, and to BBSes,
  140. User Groups, Mail-Order Disk Vendors, CD-ROM publishers, and BBS
  141. File-Distribution Networks regardless of fees, to distribute the
  142. Bank Investor, provided they convey a complete and unaltered copy of
  143. the shareware version of this product, and provided they claim no
  144. ownership of these products.
